In Moscow, in the center of contemporary art VINZAVOD December 10, 2008 was declared the new winner Kandinsky. Awards were given in three categories. In the main - "Project of the Year" - the winner was Alexei Belyaev-Gintovt: so marked his projects "Motherland-Daughter" and "Brothers and Sisters." The best young artist of the jury chose Diana Machulin, author of "Work". Media Art Project of the Year belongs to PG and is called "Setting the mobile campaign."
Once the winner in the category "Project of the Year", the artist Anatoly Osmolovsky, last year's Laureate Wassily Kandinsky, chanted "Shame on the jury!".

A short list of finalists award was announced on Nov. 20, 2008 at the end of the nominees of the exhibition, held at CHA. Competitors of the group NG were "Blue soup and Vladimir Logutov. At the rank of a young artist, along with Diana Machulina claimed Anna acorn and Gregory Yushchenko. With Alexei Belyaev-Gintovt in one category were Dmitry Gutov and Boris Orlov.

In 2007 Kandinsky Prize laureates were Anatoly Osmolovsky (draft year), Vladlen Gromova (young artist), Vladislav Mamyshev-Monroe (media-art project). Also award prizes to audience sympathy: he went to Peter Goloschapova.

Alexey Belyaev-Gintovt

Born in Moscow in 1965, studied at the Moscow Institute of Architecture. The artist, in 1988 - 1990 gg. members of the Free Academy (Moscow - St. Petersburg), participant groups, "Laboratory of permafrost and the Federal Security Service (Welfare Fund quiet).
Lives and works in Moscow.
