Perhaps you're right. Since the beginning of perestroika, many works have been moved to the basement (from personal experience). Perhaps this is 1960. To me the work came in this form, what you see now, no cleaning, I did not hold, except for dust. Pigment layer has traces of aging and in some places craquelure.

He graduated from Odessa Art Institute (1929-1935) in AF Gaúcho, TB Frayerman (diploma work - "In the fishing farm 'hands. Yu.R. Bershadsky). Participated in exhibitions since 1935 (Odessa). He painted mostly seascapes. Implemented a number of still life and portraits, executed monotyping. His works are in Ryazan XM, XM Saratov and other Solo Exhibitions: 1937, 1987, Moscow, 1972, Dubna (Moscow region).
He looked his work on the Internet and, of course, as he signed his work. I suggest you watch and favorites. There is a signature where the first letter "I" like "M". His paintings and the signature unchanged for creativity (see the still-lifes).

However, there is still Michael S. Katz (August 29, 1945, Perm, Russia - June 11, 2004) - Soviet film director, screenwriter and production designer.
He graduated from the theater and art school in Odessa and Leningrad Theatre Institute. He worked at the Odessa Film Studio (artistic director since 1976, director since 1988, screenwriter since 1991).
I think that Mikhail S. was not weak in any picture or painting.
But his work as the sample signature, I have not met.
