Olib (Croatian Olib) - an island in Croatia, in the northern Adriatic Sea. The island is located to the north-west from Zadar. To the north of Olib is Kvarner Gulf to the south - the Gulf "Wirski sea. To the north-east of the island of Pag Olib lies to the south-east - Veer to the south - a group of small islands, behind which begins Dugi Otok. To the west of Olib is similar to Olib island Silba.

The island - 26.09 km ², it has a complex shape with numerous bays. Coastline - 31,5 km. The highest point of the island - 74 meters. The population of the island of 147 people, most of whom live in the village Olib on the west coast of the island. Population employed in fishing, agriculture, including wine and cheese. Olib connected by regular ferry flights from Zadar.

The island was inhabited in the Roman era, the first written records date back to X century, the island in the documents of that time was named Aloep.

The wave of immigrants from mainland Croatia came to the island in the XV century, they were refugees from the Turkish invasion.

The island has many historical monuments, among which the parish church of the Assumption (XVII century), in which the collection of ancient Glagolitic manuscripts, old tower "Kula", the ruins of the church of St. Paul and the Monastery, abandoned in the XIII century.
