1. Leo Meerovich (Markovic) Leitman (1896 - 1974) - The question mark?

Leitman Leo Meerovich, schedule, Honored Artist of the BSSR.
   Born March 13, 1896 in Petrikov ( in Mozyr., Minsk Province. And now the center Petrykov district Gomel region., Belarus). Died Sept. 20, 1974.
   In the years 1916-1917. studied at the studio of Professor Yu R. Bershad in Odessa from 1921 to 1930 - the school YM Peng in Vitebsk. In 1937 he graduated from training courses at the Russian Academy of Arts in Leningrad.
   In the Republican, All foreign hudozhestvenny exhibitions participated since 1929
   He worked in watercolors, pastels, gouaches.
   He wrote lyrical and industrial landscapes, thematic compositions, portraits, still lifes.
   Among the artist's works - a series of sheets of "Women in the Workplace" (1957); series about the Red Army (1939); series "On the defensive lines of Moscow" (1943) work on the farmers of the Minsk Tractor, car, watch factories, Gomselmash; cycles of watercolors new Minsk (1970), "According to Lenin places" (1969), etc.
   From 1927 to 1941 he taught at the Vitebsk Art School, from 1947 to 1958 - in the Minsk Art College.
   He was awarded medals and Diploma of the Supreme Council of BSSR.

2. Dzezhits Valentin Konstantinovich (1904-1964) - teacher.

Dzezhits Valentin Konstantinovich, painter.
   Born March 9, 1904 in Helsinki (Finland). He died in 1964.
   From 1922 to 1926 he studied at the Vitebsk Art School, from 1926 to 1930 - at the Leningrad Higher Art and Technical Institute.
   In the Republican and National Exhibition participated since 1935
   The main place in the artist held the landscape, but it worked on pictures. The most famous of them - "Counter" (1932).
   Lyrical landscapes are mostly devoted to the city of Vitebsk and its surroundings: "Election Day" (1949), "Flood", "Spring Shadows" (1956), "On the wharf of Vitebsk," "Morning on Vitba" (1958), "Les Vitebsk (1961).
   He taught at the Vitebsk art school in Vitebsk art and graphics college. Until 1964 he headed the department of painting and drawing in Vitebsk Pedagogical Institute.
