From April 16 to May 16, 2010 at the Central Exhibition Hall "Manege" will work exhibition "Roerich age", which is the culmination of the international exhibition project "Roerich age". The legacy of the Roerich family first presented as the whole phenomenon of Russia and world culture. To participate in the exhibition attracted a set of materials from museums and collections in Russia, CIS and far abroad. This is more than 60 museums and research institutions in Russia and the world. The project combines the efforts and capabilities of many museums and scientific-educational centers, many of the exhibits will be displayed first.

Opening of the exhibition is timed to celebrate the 75 th anniversary of the signing in Washington, the White House, the Roerich Pact (the first international treaty on the protection of scientific and artistic institutions and historical monuments) - April 15, 1935

The project is devoted to summarizing the first hundred years of this unique family - "Roerich century" - in the field of world culture. In the thematic clusters of the exhibition represented the entire spectrum of life and work of the Roerich family in the area of science and art, philosophy and literature, pedagogy and enlightenment, social initiatives and the preservation of world cultural heritage.

All previous exhibitions devoted to Roerich's work, wherever they were, were only a few faces a complex and diverse heritage of this family, most often they were art exhibitions Nicholas Roerich and Svetoslav Roerich. This project involves pooling the efforts and abilities of many museums and scientific-educational centers, including the largest world-class centers, such as the State Hermitage Museum, State Russian Museum, State Tretyakov Gallery, St. Petersburg State University, Russia State Library, National Library, Library of Russia Academy of Sciences, as well as museums of St. Petersburg, Moscow and other cities in Russia and abroad, and private collections in Russia, which had never been done. Submitted rich biographical material, and many exhibits will be displayed first.

One of the central places in the exhibition will take artistic works NK Roerich Museum of St. Petersburg and Moscow museums and private collections. From theme to theme exhibition visitor gets a holistic view of Roerich's work, which became an expression of ideas of cultural growth, spiritual development and active practice of friendly cooperation for the benefit of all mankind.

The exhibition is the culmination of the International Project "Roerich heritage", aimed at the preservation and maintenance of the heritage of the Roerich family in their hometown and throughout the world. A science exhibition catalog, based on a database collected during the preparation and conduct of the project, planned to set up Internet site.
