Ryazhskiy Georgy [31.1 (12.2) .1895, d Ignatiev, now the Moscow region - 20.10.1952, Moscow], a Soviet painter, Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1944), full member AH the USSR (1949). Member of the CPSU in 1924. He studied in Moscow in private studios (since 1912) and in the State of free art workshops - Higher Art (1918-20). Member associations KNIFE (New Society of Painters, from 1922) and AHRR (since 1923). Taught in Vhuteine - Moscow Art Institute. VISurikova (1934-52). He painted mainly portraits of women, creating in them the images of new people, born of the Soviet era, passing the typical traits of women - public figures. Attention is also a thematic pattern and landscape. Works: "Rabfakovka" (1926), "delegate" (1927), "The President of" (1928), "Farmer-brigade" (1932), all - in the Tretyakov Gallery.

Although his name has become a nominal among artists of socialist realism, but personally, I first saw (and was surprised) at Ryazhskoe quite avant-garde and Suprematist work. The last picture ( "Portrait of a young fireman, 1927) belongs to me.
