I have long intended to raise the subject of one of the most interesting and little-known Russian avant-garde trends - Organic. I will begin with an excerpt from an article by Alla Povelihinoy - the best expert in this field. This article was published in the book, published by the RA about eight years ago.
Alla Povelihina Theory of world unity and organic trend in Russian Avant-garde of the twentieth century First quarter of the twentieth century - the time the artistic revolution in Russia. In the 1910's - 1920's, Russian artists are pioneers in the general movement of culture, and Russia - the center of philosophical and religious and artistic ideas. Changes affected the whole culture of the early twentieth century: philosophy, literature, fine arts, music. French art: Impressionism and Cubism, Italian Futurism had meaning for the external shock, but then the Russian art was based on other assumptions that are increasingly found their own tradition of folk art: lubok, signage, embroidery, carvings, toys, and icons . Already in 1910's of the artists of Russia have created schools and directions. In their diversity of Russian art of this period is an extraordinary phenomenon.
