At the age of 88 years died on the British painter of German-Jewish origin of Lucien Freud, the Associated Press reported with reference to the art dealer William Akvavellu (William Acquavella).

Death was still on July 20. According Akvavelly, Freud died of disease, but did not elaborate on what exactly.

Freud was born in Berlin in 1922. In 1933 his family to escape Nazi persecution, moved to the UK. The future artist was in London such institutions as Central School of Art and Goldsmiths College. Freud's first solo exhibition was held at the Lefevre Gallery in 1944.
