in Moscow adopted a law on the privatization of cultural heritage
Law "On privatization of state property of the city of Moscow" was adopted on Wednesday at a meeting of the Moscow City Duma. About it reports RIA Novosti.

The law establishes the procedure for the privatization of cultural heritage objects owned by the city, and establishes the obligation for the owners to restore and preserve the privatized sites. This duty will be indicated in the security obligations of the owner as "burdens of ownership.

The law establishes a maximum limit of the area of privatized space of 100 square meters. The new owners of cultural heritage is given a delay for payment of the privatization period of one year.

The right to sell subject to privatization of cultural heritage, according to the provisions of the law may be granted to selected organizations on a competitive basis. Prior to the adoption of the law, this right was secured only for the specialized organization for sale of property capital.

List of historic buildings that could be privatized, will be determined Heritage Committee. The list will be restricted at the legislative level, a list of objects that are not subject to privatization.

Sale of monuments of culture in part is prohibited.

Total of more than 6.5 thousand monuments of cultural heritage located in the capital, owned by the city there are about 1,8 thousand objects. 2,5 thousand monuments are in federal ownership. About 250 sites are privately owned.

Under the law, the status of cultural heritage objects are paintings, sculptures, decorative art, artefacts, resulting from historical events, which represent value in terms of history, archeology, architecture, art, science and technology. Moreover, this status also have "objects that bear witness to epochs and civilizations, the true sources of information about the origin and development of culture."
