Osiev Gennady. Painter, graphic artist.
Born in 1950 in Veliky Ustyug, died in 1991 in Vologda. He graduated from the Yaroslavl art school (1965-1969). Participant of exhibitions since 1972. Member of the artists Union of the USSR since 1980. Lived and worked in Vologda since 1973. His work allotted a worthy place in the Vologda regional art gallery, Museum Association "Art culture of the Russian North". In 2010, organized by the international plein air painting memory, N. Osiev (, Veliky Ustyug).

Drew the most famous portrait of Nikolai Rubtsov and exactly repeated his destiny: he was stabbed to death by his own wife. Curiously, the punishment of the wife of the artist served in the same chamber where he sat when "the Muse of death" Rubtsov, and like her predecessor, she worked as a prison librarian, and then began to write poetry.
