Artist in the broadest sense: he worked as a writer, painter and graphic artist (graduate of the Leningrad Academy of Arts, 1960)
His spiritual friends were at that time Minas Avetisyan, "a mature painter bright personality," as written about him afterwards, Tselkov, who became world-famous artist, a Muscovite Mikhail Kazan. Spiritual connection, friendship maintained between the artists throughout their lives.
In the face of the artist's paintings gained Golyavkina courageous, selfless, disinterested love of the painter with individual style, capable of working in a style corresponding to the present. New it opens in any picture, embodying his idea of painting - a combination, the influence of colors on each other.
Golyavkinu impressed subjective individualistic approach to painting, which in the second half of the twentieth century took a leading position. Its composition was conceived "to smear" - the color.
