In general, the mysterious author of a long-lived, wrote, sculpted, built ... There's nothing left ... Some crumbs, traces, Multi base of pictures ...
Experimental groups, Che did not create everything falling apart .. Even the fresco, the standard sort of thing in those days, could not normally do, the Last Supper crumbled almost immediately, in its normal state, no one saw ... not comply with the technology.

Yes, Leonardo - really a phenomenon that does not speak!
It is interesting to describe his life and work of Dmitri Merezhkovsky in his book "Resurrected gods, or Leonardo da Vinci" (1901) ... who have not read - I strongly advise!

You can compare the number of works by Raphael (1483-1520) and Leonardo (1452-1519).
About Titian (1477-1576) can not even say, long lived ...

Very interesting observation. Since the majority of people (and Leonardo knows all) that the impression left a lot of things, and certainly the paintings are even better. I still continue to ascribe to him. Of the latter on the memory - Shroud of Turin.

And Rafael hangs in excellent quality, like new. Prior to that contemporaries .. from the earlier, to 200 years, the same Giotto (1267-1337) remains, as I understand it, 10 times more.
