Today in Paris opened the 37 th Contemporary Art Fair FIAC (Foire Internationale d'Art Contemporain), which will run till October 24. Venue - the Grand Palais and the square courtyard in the Louvre. First given to the art market heavyweights, the second - the younger galleries and dealers, whose company sponsored booths Galeries Lafayette.
Prestige fair FIAC markedly risen in recent years, and today it is considered one of the major world events of this kind. This year, FIAC involved 195 galleries, including such well-known as Gagosian, Victoria Miro, Hauser & Wirth, Barbara Gladstone, David Zwirner and Eva Presenhuber. Last year the fair had a special stand, which sold 24 sverhdorogih work, including the Mondrian for 35 million dollars, Bacon, 20, and two paintings by Leger, but this time like it was decided not to make, according to rumors, because, that buyers have found only a small part of the works.
