Sudeikin, Sergey (1882-1946), Russian artist, representative of symbolism, one of the foremost masters of the terms "Blue Rose".

Unlike most other "goluborozovtsev, Sudeikin (not without the influence of his friend Konstantin Somov) professed an" ironic symbolism, making his paintings in the picturesque splints on the themes of art, folklore, or "beautiful old" (walking, 1906, Tretyakov Gallery, in the park, 1907; Ballet, 1910, both work - in the Russian Museum, series actually Lubkov Shrovetide heroes, mid 1910-ies). Maeterlinck in the production of Vsevolod Meyerhold (studio to Cook's, 1905). Also collaborated with the theater: Komissarzhevskaya, New Drama, and the Small Chamber. In 1912-1913 took part in "Russian Seasons" of Sergei Diaghilev. Served as an illustrator and, in particular, the book is particularly close to him creatively, M. Kuzmin (chimes of love, 1912, etc.). In 1920 he left for Paris, from 1922 he lived in New York. Collaborated in Dzh.Balanchinym, VF Nijinsky, Mikhail Fokine, worked for Hollywood (1934-1935), Covent Garden (1939-1940). In the work Sudeikina embodied a synthesis of theatrical attitude "World of Art" and the mystical symbolism of the "Blue Rose". Aestheticism modern in his paintings connects with irony and elements of primitivism.
