In Ekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts have established that the painting in 1856, written by artist Timothy Neff (1805-1876), depicts the Grand Duchess Anna Pavlovna. As informs "Interfax", was previously thought that this portrait of an unknown woman.
At the museum's collection of paintings, which were kept there since 1936, was listed under the name of "Portrait of a Woman." However, recent research webs, in particular, signs and decorations on orders models have helped establish who it depicts. According to the head of the department of domestic and foreign art museum Olga Hornung, experts have come to the conclusion that depicted a woman belongs to the royal family. Comparative analysis of paintings with portraits of the Grand Duchesses of this period showed that this is the youngest daughter of Paul I. Presentation of the portrait by Neff held July 18 at the museum. Anna Pavlovna, the last daughter of Paul and Maria Feodorovna, born in 1792. In 1809, she courted for Napoleon Bonaparte, but he refused as Anna at the time was too young. In 1816, she married the Dutch Crown Prince Willem of Orange, in 1840, came to the throne. From 1840 to 1849 years, Anna was the queen of the Netherlands. She died in 1865 and was buried in Delft. Anna - one of my favorite Dutch rulers. Her name is in the area of The Hague, in her honor was also named the municipality Anna Pavlovna. *** |
