"Pilgrims in the East"
29 January 2011 - February 28, 2011 January 28, 2011 at the State Museum of East opened "Pilgrims in the East, representing the works of Russian artists of XX-XXI centuries. from the Museum of East and private collections. The exposition is a continuation of one of the main directions of activity of a museum exhibition, which began in the 1960's and 70's. Here are the paintings and graphic works are well known or less known to a wide audience of Russian artists who worked from early 1920 to the present day: from A. Shevchenko and N. Udaltsova to A. Kamensky, I. Starzhenetskaya, B. Bomshteyna, L. Saksonova and younger artists - T. Yang, L. Zhuhavicher, M. Yahilevicha. In total, the exhibition presents 104 works of 17 th of the authors. All they have created images of the "Soviet East", including the Crimea, the Caucasus, Central Asia, Altai, Manchuria, Mongolia and the Middle East - Turkey's Cappadocia, Egypt and Israel, carrying out their creative individuality and inspiration from nature and the eastern culture, unlike the European and simultaneously, which in many respects its origins. Visitors can see the romantic and at the same time in Cezanne's "existential" images Batum started at the beginning of the 1930 A. Shevchenko, and gouaches L. Bakulin, TX boiling in those years, the life of this city, the monumental epic, despite the small sizes, graphic compositions M. Gaidukevich created during the 1920's.
