This is probably a portrait of the wife of a merchant Giocondo (hence the title of the painting - Mona Lisa ) , the identification shown conclusively established .
« Mona Lisa" is considered one of the best works in the genre of portraiture, influenced by the work of the High Renaissance and indirectly through them - on the subsequent development of the genre, which was a " must always return to the" Mona Lisa " as a model of the unattainable , but mandatory ».
