Richard Sommer, Karl Karlovich [1] (1866 - 1939) - Russian painter, watercolorist, and one of the founders of the Tiflis Society of Fine Arts.
Biography
Richard Sommer, Karl Karlovich of 1884 was a volunteer at the Imperial Academy of Arts. During training, he was awarded several medals, large incentive. In 1893 he completed his training with the rank of the class artist third degree.
Since the late 1890s and early 1900s, Sommer has worked extensively in Central Asia in the period from 1912 to 1917 he worked in the South Caucasus: Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
He is the author of numerous works of painting, as well as a number of graphic works in the main genre of ethnographic character.

In his works he depicted as a household, and battle scenes, and the types of Turkestan monuments and landscapes of the old quarters of Tashkent, Bukhara and Samarkand.
