       He is the author of the collection "The Gulag eyes of an artist" - well-known beautiful series of paintings, which depicted various aspects of camp life of the penitentiary system of the Stalinist regime in the Soviet Union - a regime of lawlessness, arbitrary rule and political repression.
     Getman NI stood at the origins of the Magadan Branch of the artistic production workshops of the Art Fund of the RSFSR (1959) and the establishment of the Magadan of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR (1962g.) in the Magadan region.
       Artist-painter of the "first wave" of Soviet art in the Magadan region (the Kolyma and Chukotka). One of the first Soviet artists in the 50-ies of the last century, he painted portraits of the Chukchi and Eskimos, Evens and Yukagirs - inhabitants of the indigenous people of the Far Northeast USSR and its plot-theme paintings entered the golden fund Anadyrskogo district and Magadan regional museum.

1953 - 2004 gg. - Creation of a picturesque series of paintings "The Gulag - the eyes of the artist"
1956 - Awarded the Magadan Regional Party Committee and Executive Committee.
1957 - adopted a candidate member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
1959 - received from the authorities permission to move to the regional center - Magadan.

1992 - elected chairman of the Oryol regional association of victims of political repression and a member of the commission for the rehabilitation and restoration of the rights of illegally repressed by the Oryol region.
1994 - 1999 - the creative trip to Germany, Holland, Israel and Hungary.

2004 (August 29) - died in Orel.
