In 1964 in Moscow for the first time hosted the first All-Union Exhibition of Applied Graphics, organized by the Academy of Arts and the Union of Artists of the USSR, finally approving the country's new profession - graphic designer. True, it was carefully concealed by the Soviet pseudonyms such as "industrial design", "technical aesthetics", "application schedule", "Industrial Graphics", "Applied graphic and packaging, etc.

It is known that Applied graphic has received its sudden and rapid development thanks to the revolution "from above", consisting of several decisions of the CPSU Central Committee and USSR Council of Ministers.
