«Wonderful Life. This is not a concept in its purest form. And not even a series of paintings. It's just a feeling of those symbolic scenes, faded pastel shades, a little scary, a little ironically. A set of simple characters in some of the works: a boy, flower, fish, sea, sun ... All works as a kind of knowledge is obvious, a friend, an ideal landscape for example, but not completely located somewhere nearby. Just two years ago, a young St. Petersburg artist Eugene Dedova was the first solo exhibition in the framework of the "Start" at the Winery (from 17 May to 21 June 2009) http://www.winzavod.ru/start/dedov2.html. In total installation titled "Five Rooms" artist to embody the sense of space-time relations. Then followed a series of successful exhibitions in Russia, in his native St. Petersburg and abroad.
Eugene Grandfathers still a student, enrolled in one of the most prestigious art schools of Russia - St. Petersburg State Artistic and Industrial Academy. Creativity Petersburg artists are almost always recognizable - a love for intricate texture of the canvas surface, particularly relevant to the composition and perspective and, of course, the color - silver pearl, light, with subtle nuances of sensuous color. The reasons for this are not known. Maybe it's the air of the Northern Venice, the white nights, misty banks of the Neva, or banal humidity, and possibly a deep subconscious heritage pictorial tradition of the Silver Age - artists miriskusnikov with their decorative synthesis and refined symbolism.

About a young St. Petersburg artist Eugenia Grandfathers spoke after his first solo exhibition in Moscow in 2009. Grandfathers still completing their education in college Mukhina in St. Petersburg, but is already actively involved in the artistic life of the two capitals. In 2009, the debut exhibition in Moscow, he presented the installation "Five Rooms" in the space where the artist tried to analyze his own personal sense of time in the space of life. "You could say that human life - a ray of light, divided into segments - says Grandfathers - in which the author managed to convey his sense of space-time relations, and installation is always directly related to the concept of time."

Eugene Grandfathers works not only with the installation, but also an excellent command of classical technique of painting. In his paintings he creates on the verge of symbolism and abstraction, and moving toward increasing dematerialization of the plot dissolves into images of light elements. Grandfathers limited set of simple motifs of colorful spots and reduces the color contrasts to a minimum, replacing them with thin, as if phosphorescent tonal haze. His abstract works are perceived by most inner vision and immerse the viewer in a state close to the meditative.

In V-Art gallery on the exhibition "Wonderful Life" will be presented about 20 paintings - semi-abstract and figurative paintings, most of them written specially for the exhibition. Another part of the exhibition - a replica of the project "Thieves", which was shown in St. Petersburg in the autumn of 2010. In this project, the artist thought about the assignment of another's ideas. Does the idea of ​​hovering in the air or did they steal? In St. Petersburg exhibition was a cell-maze, which were "locked up" the characters of painting.
