Ramon Luis Marin was born in Madrid in 1884. He studied at a specialist in agriculture, was an officer. Most of the work does not interfere favorite hobby Marina capture images with the camera. At a very young age became interested in photography Marin, in the studio at Cuesta Amador Puerta del Sol, he studied with Alfonso Sanchez Garcia. He started working photographer in 1908 and in 1922 became a reporter for the newspaper "Informasones."

Archive Luis Ramon Marina consists of approximately 18,000 negatives, of which more than 15,000 - on glass plates. Marine died in 1944, before his death he managed to organize their materials and leave the many explanations. After the 1940 Marin did not publish any photos. How did during the Civil War, survived shots Republicans, Alfonso XIII, as well as the well-known leftist intellectuals? Edward Pla, a widow, Marina, for fear of reprisals, immured 18,000 negatives in the kitchen wall, where they have lain for decades. Later, her daughter, Lucia gave the negatives Pablo Iglesias Foundation, which together with Telefonica Foundation has restored a few years ago, and digitized archive material Marina.
