Publication of book "Russian art abroad today" - a stage of collecting and research activities of the NCCA, the development of the program "Russian Abroad", in force since 2002.

In 2008, the National Center for Contemporary Art has become one of the winners of the VI grant competition of the museum project "The Changing Museum in a Changing World" in the nomination "Museum studies. Contest is held the Vladimir Potanin Charity Fund, supported by the Ministry of Culture and operational management of the Association of Managers of Culture (AMC). In the course of the project "Russian art emigration today" were conducted video interviews with artists living in New York, Paris, Cologne, Berlin and Vienna. The purpose of this research project, including an international conference, publishing a collection of conference materials and a DVD-ROM of the Russian emigration, is the creation of a science-based review of the phenomenon.
