The exhibition of Vladimir migacheva "Average band" in the gallery ARTSTORY presents 40 canvases, written in a unique author's technique. Landscapes, made of earth, ashes, coal, clay, alkyd resins, turn into an epic Symphony on themes of today's Russia, in which the earth itself dictates the overall color and tone, and mood.

The name "Middle band" is intended to emphasize the unity of the multiple layers of meaning of the presented exposition geography (part of Russia), philosophically-everyday (if we consider life as alternating black and light bands, in General, will prevail grey tone) and metaphysical (as a space in which man exists - pagans call it middle of the world).

For many years, the artist keeps faithful to the genre, as he calls it, monotonous landscape, opening all new depths and possibilities. Born in the village in Orel region (1959), Vladimir Migachev with his mother's milk has absorbed the secrets of the Russian nature - like environment around him. However, would take some time to dormant in the subconscious embodied in countless canvases. After graduating from art-graphic faculty of the Kuban state University (Krasnodar) novice painter, he taught for two years at the school of drawing, but for the soul within ten years of writing non-objective compositions. Abstract bribed his absolute freedom from the plot, any literaturii, the ability to stun purely pictorial means.

Sometime in the mid 90's fate brought Vladimir migacheva in the temple, which we had to paint. Bible-the Gospels in the Russian interpretation led him to believe that, first, an abstract painting is directly connected with the Russian-painting - there spiritual fulfillment is achieved with just two visual tools, line and color). Secondly, spiritual fulfillment and voltage is easiest to achieve with the utmost simplicity and restraint forms (the luminosity does not necessarily imply brightness). Thirdly, the chaos of non-figurative art for the artist is only a basis from which should be his own pictorial language. And that he sounded convincing, you need to make it as concise (monochrome) and expressive (emotional).
Work in the Church returned Vladimir migacheva to his rural roots and origins, has awakened interest in national traditions. He decided to paint a portrait of Russia's vast expanses of its middle zone, inescapable sadness and sacred power. Intuition told me that the usual annoying paint is clearly not cope with such a multi-faceted task. One day he came up with the idea. If the landscape is dominated by the earth, why not write it using the same land. To take a simple earth - the one that's under your feet, and put on canvas. Because the earth is millions of years absorbed the energy lived on her humanity, what was more to tell about the most important? And if it is adjacent to the land to put the ashes (ashes to ashes), the emotional content of the painting will increase many times. Thus was born the unique author's technique. Acrylic on earth (often in the form of humus, sand, ashes, coal, clay, alkyd resins, kubassek, - merging in ecstasy, turned into an epic Symphony on themes of today's Russia, in which the land dictates the overall color and tone, and mood.

Vladimir Migachev mixes not only materials, but also a variety of techniques and styles - the most that neither is a "primitive" realism and neo-expressionism, graphic monochrome and brutality texture, harshness and monumentality, representativeness and conceptuality. Besides the artist directly refers to the art Nouveau and symbolism with their exquisite sadness, nostalgia, anxiety, aestheticization of horizontal and passionate desire to get out. The result is some "antipasti" - the fruit of a kind of "spiritual vision" of the author, in whom is manifested the essence of what is happening in the world, and all means of expression are governed by the desire to reveal the ambivalence of nature, to show the environment as a sacrifice and as the executioner. On the one hand, the horrific pain for ecological and spiritual context in which we all were. On the other, a reminder of infernal incarnation of earth - like substance from which comes all things, and where it inevitably returns. The idyllic landscape of the middle band is illusory, because it bears destructive potential. Do not forget that the earth is one of the elements, the anger which is terrible.
- On earth, in principle everything is possible, " says Vladimir Migachev. - Love, hate, happiness, joy, sorrow, war, victory. But only under one condition. Must be the earth itself. Without it there is nothing. Simply does not exist.

Thanks Lucy, for a good story about a good artist.
I found it interesting to draw a parallel with Anselm Kiefer, also focused on the ground.
Ingredients alchemy of the earth in the context of historical shocks the Kiefer - the same clay with soil and ashes. Plus what in them lies, one of them grows and is shed streams of light, darkness, water, fire, wind, and human passions.
