Nikolai p. Chuprina was born in 1928 in Ukraine (village of Korsun, Donetsk region). Graduated from the Kharkov art College. Samokish, where she graduated with honors, and Kharkov art Institute, who also graduated with honors. He studied in the Studio of M. Shaposhnikov, and E. Egorova, L. Chernova. From 1956 he worked in the Crimea. In 1960 he joined the Union of artists of Ukraine. Has the title of honored artist of the Crimea.
Since the beginning of creative activity participated in regional, Republican, all-Union and foreign exhibitions. The first professional exhibition was held in Simferopol in 1988, the Second was held in honor of the 70th anniversary of the artist.
By 1990, colleagues of Nikolay Chuprina - sculptors, painters, critics with admirable unanimity supported the nomination of his candidacy for the title of honoured artist of the Ukrainian SSR. But this coincided with the collapse of the USSR and the presentations of the documents were lost somewhere in the bureaucratic "blockages".

In his collection there are more than 200 paintings: portraits, landscapes, still lifes, numerous studies, thematic paintings.
His works are in museums and galleries in the CIS and in private collections in Spain, France, Germany, Holland, USA, Japan.
In the Louvre (France) one of the most striking of his works - "portrait of the wife" (1959)
