The hall had accumulated about 50 people, but the discussion has turned a bit strange. Joe Vickery asked questions about the art of photography, trends, but it seemed that every "Who in the woods, who for firewood." Berezner for some reason began to tell the story of photography in Russia, and emphasized the fact that we have no culture, and everything bad. Igor Mukhin asked about the number of copies of his work. Photos of 1980 in the amount of 25, and today it prints in circulation 7 pcs. For Westerners still do not understand the phenomenon of contemporary Russian photography, even in terms of names: Russian /Russian /Soviet /informal. Markin said about the art market, the photos in Russia, or rather that he has not yet formed. In 2011 Gelos held auctions photos, but unsuccessfully, in 2012 - Russian auction house held a successful auction of Russian photography (bought more than 60%). On the Russian Antique Salon photo first appeared just this year http://forum.artinvestment.ru/showpo...1&postcount=37 Several times Classic Photo Gallery arrange a fair photos FotoMixFight, it was a lot of work, and the Russian photography, and foreign, and modern, to suit all tastes. That's just not been a commercial success, it is not surprising: there was no advertising, no way this event is not announced, I learned about the fair accident. http://forum.artinvestment.ru/showthread.php?p=2115721 Here is the state of the market at the moment. If the auction on June 5 will sell at least a quarter, it will be a big breakthrough. <! - ~ 1 ~ -> Добавлено через 1 час 49 минут On the issue of prices Joe Vickery said that for those photographers who were already selling, put estimeyty focusing on previous sales, and for photographers, appeared for the first time, or consulted with Western art dealers, or estimate set intuitively. Two years ago in Paris conducted auction of Russian photography, and even relatively successfully completed: http://forum.artinvestment.ru/showthread.php?t=114521 If you think about where now such an interest in Russian contemporary photography, I just remember the great exhibition in Houston last year, as part of the Biennale "Photofest," and there were photos of the sixties, and contemporary photography. Again, there is little written about it, not announced. http://forum.artinvestment.ru/showthread.php?t=153841 I seem to be interested in the following lots: Sergey Borisov number 807 estimate 1500-2000 pounds Igor Mukhin number 810 - 6-8 thousand pounds Eugene Mokhorev number 818 - 7.5 million pounds Boris Mikhailov number 824 - 5-7 thousand Antanas Sutkus number 848 - 6-8 thousand Tatiana Liberman number 862 - 1800-2500 pounds Andrew Chezhin number 865, № 871 - 07.05 thousand Boris Smelov number 891 - 6-8 thousand pounds, № 893 - 9.7 million pounds Alexander Slyusarev number 897 - 12-18 thousand pounds, № 900 - 10-15 thousand, № 906 - 08.06 thousand Vladimir Kupriyanov number 910 - 25-35 thousand pounds, № 914 - 10-15 thousand Alexey Titarenko number 926 - 12.8 thousand, № 927 - 12-18 thousand Gennady Bodrov number 936 - 3-5 thousand pounds.

Today was the auction photos "Changing Focus - A Collection of Russian and Eastern European Contemporary Photography". Conflicting results: sold only 34 of the 155 photos. Not a very good indicator, although for the first auction of contemporary Russian photography, probably a good idea.
Unfortunately, not bought any photos of Igor Mukhin, although work has been just great. We wish him good luck in the future! In the first place - Boris Mikhailov, lot 831. A series of 23 photographs bought for 46,000 pounds, with the premium auction - is 57500. Bought almost all the work Mikhailova, so that it can be called the star of these trades: 824 - 13,750 825 - 20,000 826 - 6,875 828 - 10,000 829 - 3,500 831 - 57,500 In second place - Komar and Melamid. Photos taken by a monkey, bought for 50,000 pounds (at a premium). Gone 3 photos by Sergey Borisov (1500-2000 pounds) Sutkus and other members of the Lithuanian school (7.4 million pounds) Photo from the boy at the piano (lot 818) sold for Mokhoreva 5 thousand pounds. Bought two photos Chezhina: Lot 864 - 12500 and 871 - 5000. I watched the auction online at Sotheby's, and for two photos of Boris Smelova was a long struggle: for Lot 892 photos from the St. Petersburg series was 10 steps from the start in 5000 to 8 and a half, at a premium price of 10,625 pounds. And Lot 893 of 6,875 pounds. Surprisingly, it did not buy his famous still life - Lot 891. Photos Slusarev apparently found no interest among buyers. Just bought a series of 3 pictures - Lot 904 of 3,000 pounds. A series of photos Kupriyanov with portraits of women, and the signatures of the poems of Pushkin, too, for some reason did not find a buyer. But the rest of his works were selling like hot cakes: 911 for the lot struggled for a long time, until the upper estimate of 12,000. 911 - 15,000 912 - 10,000 913 -11.875 Another bought almost all photos Titarenko with blurred figures against the background of the city streets, shot at slow shutter speeds, from 6 to 11,000.
