It seems whether KA Somov?
I ask advice from the experts. According to the seller, it is - the last self-portrait intravital Konstantin Andreevich Somov (no examination). Can you believe this? Signed - Cyrillic: "K. Somov" - and this is the main argument of opponents of the authenticity of the portrait. However, canvas, primer, and manner of writing is very similar to the manner of the great romance - this is orally informed the expert consultation Tretyakov Gallery (in the State Tretyakov Gallery, it seems, is limited to providing services assess the paintings). Thank you in advance for your attention and advice.

uriart, the fact of the matter is that like! Look at the early self-portraits. Indeed, the self-portrait of 1928 is widely known, it confirms the "Self-Portrait in a pince-nez" (almost one person), but, if we assume that the one I am talking about, was written in the second half of the 30-ies, when the artist was already much older and, moreover, was ill - very, very possible that this is the original! Miracles do not happen, but would like to believe.

A simple comparison.
The shape of the nose. Somov was a snub-nosed. And your portrait depicts a man with an aquiline profile. Where too next? |

Maybe it is depicted F. Sologub? A photograph of a portrait can be full face, rather than the side. Add a light, but not flash. And where zagadachnaya signature "K Somov"? ... All the same little weak Portet for Luba.
