In the museum the Italian city of Modena was discovered work by Raphael, reports Reuters. It had been thought that the picture size of 30 to 40 centimeters was created in the XIX century on the basis of the paintings "The Holy Family, also known as" Pearl ". But scientists using modern methods of attribution have been able to establish that the author of the painting is Raphael.
On canvas, depicts a woman's head. Obviously, the work was either one of the first sketches of Raphael in creating "Holy Family", a preserved part of the more impressive for the size of the image, the first version of "Pearls".

"Holy Family" was conceived and initiated by Raphael, but the death in 1520 prevented the artist to finish the work. The picture was completed one of the most talented pupils of Raphael, Giulio Romano. Work acquired by Cardinal Ippolito d'Este. He soon sold the "Holy Family" (now it is stored at Madrid's Prado museum), leaving only a fragment, created by Raphael.
