Dzheymch MacNeille Whistler PEACOCK
Peacock
A peacock spreading its tail, Lifts up his nose. -All admire, all look! Nearer, nearer. Miracle-tail show you All of it will tell you. Oh, what plumage Riot of colors and bloom! And do not argue you with me I swear - Although the whole earth will pass Lovelier in the world do not find! And the park rumor With simple peacock cock! If you tail-thou hast gathered Nothing in it does not find it! (c) |

Ah yes, Pushkin!
Ah yes Tiutchev, "ah yes the son of a bitch! I hope everyone understands the sense in which I give a quote. Hey, who do not understand! Let me explain just in case - in a positive sense. There was a phrase about "our everything".
Where is it only takes decent verse for all occasions! Such texts simply because of the Internet with guugla or Yandex not find! There need to know where to look. Or just know. A pleasure to read - to raise their level. I picked up on - who will understand will understand. And who does not understand - God be with him. People expressed their opinion, and as beautifully expressed! Do not tongue-tied. I feel with you soon, we will express himself hints and easy to follow old phrases. |

Frank Duveneck
Frank Duveneck. Born Oct. 9, 1848 - died January 3, 1919. American portraitist.
His work, initially ignored, as was shown in Boston and elsewhere around 1875. Henry James called it "an unsuspecting genius, at age 27 he was already a famous artist. In 1878 Duveneck opened a school in Munich, and in the village survey in Bavaria. His students, known as "Boys Duveneck", - Twachtman, Otto Baker, Dzhalius Rolshoven, and Herman Vessel. In 1886 he married one of his students who greatly admired Henry James - Boston Elizabeth Butt. They lived in Bellosguardo within two years, where she bore him a son. Elizabeth died later in Paris from pneumonia. Duveneck was devastated. After returning from Italy to America, he devoted some attention to sculpture and fashioned a beautiful monument to his wife, who is the English cemetery in Florence. Despite the active nature, the death of Elizabeth slowed his performance - as a rich man, he wanted to lead a life of relative obscurity. He lived in Covington until his death in 1919. and taught at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, his disciples were: John Christen Johansen, M. Jean MacLaine, Edward Charles Volkert and Rassel Wright. |

Dyuvenek - a good artist at that time. But such was vmire hundreds and thousands.
But who can enlighten me and name an indisputable masterpiece of American Art 19-early 20 century? Need a world-class talent. But, for God's sake, do not bring in an example of "talents" with high prices. I am interested in full-blooded American who did something outstanding, which affected the whole world situation has created a new style or a major trend. PS Sorry for provincialism, I myself no education, I want you to learn good sense. |

Masterpieces are not sold
Let is expensive, though.
Someone has already said many times that in our non-military time masterpieces are not sold. What museum would sell out their collections of Vermeer, Van Gogh or Rembrandt? They sold after the Revolution, during the war, just robbed .. In our time, are sold at auctions or on the weaknesses of the recognized masters of old, or new models of new producers. Or do we recognize one of the "Sunflowers" Van Gogh's most powerful work of this master? Because it is the most expensive he sold? But Rothko's "cooler" Van Gogh? Well, judging by the numbers .... Sorry for the painfully familiar examples - so my approach will be clearer. I'm just interested in at least one American who does not sell. The artist, who determine the price of the catalog can not. |
