"The Appearance of Christ to the people" no one relates to the iconography. The Church does not want to send this picture of THG to the temple.

Unlike paintings of icons - simple.
Important: a name written on the icon pictured saint (this name and the icon sanctified), or a holiday or other event, known from Scripture or tradition.
There are many paintings, which were written with the icon.
For example, Ivanov The Appearance of Christ to Mary Magdalene.
Or Raphael - Madonna of the chair.
Here, no picture and no picture, and icon Panteleimon.
What can get by halo of a saint and the inscription of his name.

There is an academic icon, when you look petrified saints are rendered three-dimensional and black and white.
