Actually, this landscape is very similar to the manner of painting Transcarpathian artists ....
Myself laughing with this Vinogradoffa. Maybe they had in mind with Sergei Vinogradov? > (this is a city in Transcarpathia).

Trinity International Auctions, 2 Arts Center Lane, Avon, CT 06001 is a highlight - "early work of Nicholas Feshina"
Lot 25 FECHIN NICOLAI IVANOVICH RUSSIAN-AMERICAN 1881-1955, "Still Life with Fruit and Gold Plate", Oil on canvas board, 30 x 24 in (76.2 x 61 cm), signed lower right Estimate $ 18,000 - $ 24,000 Attention! Painting with provenance: (I do dataprojektor translation from a small Correction) ORIGIN: The print on the reverse side of the board, says: "Schneider & Co, materials for artists, 123 W 68th St, New York." It was the old business of art supplies in New York with a long history, from the early 20 th century to 70 at this location. Address 123 W 68th ST. located in the upper-west side of Manhattan, just blocks from the South End of Central Park. When Feshin arrived in New York in August 1923, he settled into his first studio apartment in this neighborhood to Central Park, which was granted to him, his protege, a fan and friend of Dean Cornwell - the famous American illustrator. Dean Cornwell, organized, first, a stable income for Feshina as a teacher of the newly established Central Art School. This art school was located on the 7 th floor of the Central Station in New York. It was part of Grand Central Art Galleries in the same building, which was founded in 1922 by John Sargent Stinger (Singer) and Edmund Graecen. Central Station is just a few blocks south of the district where he lived and was located Feshin store art materials. Feshin worked at the Art School from 1923 to 1925, and regularly exhibited and sold his paintings in art galleries in Grand Central. Posed by printing on the reverse side of the picture corresponds to the time and place of residence Feshina in New York. In the attribution !!! PROVENANCE: The stamp on the back of the artist board says "Schneider & Co, Artist's Materials, 123 W68th St, NY". That was an old artist supplies business in NYC with a long history. It dates back to the beginning of the 20th century and was in business at that address till the 70's. The address 123 W68th St is on the upper west side of Manhattan, only a few blocks from the southend of Central Park. When Fechin arrived in NYC in August 1923, he had his first studio apartment in this neighborhood facing Central Park that was provided to him by his protege ', admirer and friend Dean Cornwell - a famous American illustrator. It was also Dean Cornwell that organized the first job with a steady income for Fechin as an instructor at the newly founded Grand Central Art School. This art school was located on the 7th floor of the Grand Central Station building in NYC. It was part of the Grand Central Art Galleries in the same building which was founded in 1922 by John Stinger Sargent and Edmund Graecen. The Grand Central Station is again just a few blocks to the south of the neighborhood where Fechin lived and the artist's materials shop was located. Fechin worked at the art school from 1923 to 1925 and regularly exhibited and sold his paintings at the Grand Central Art Galleries there. So the stamp on the back of the painting places it in the right time and location in correlation with Fechin's life in NYC. Последний раз редактировалось OlegTsi; 10.06.2011 в 02:46. |
