Grant Karakhanyan was born June 4, 1952 in Yerevan. In 1967 he entered the Music College. R. Melikian in Yerevan. In 1975 he graduated from Yerevan State Theatre - Art Institute. HIDDEN WORLD OF GRANT KARAKHANYAN

Grant Karakhanyan one of those artists who never fall below a selected high bar for himself. ".... Hello gentlemen!
We successfully descended from the mountains of Armenia magic. Welcome all in the native and nearly flat Moscow. The trip was just still magical. Made many sketches and drawings, and has already begun work on a painting of the Armenian motives. Armenia and really inspiring. Our group consisted of 9-man: architect, poet, editor, a physicist and a couple of teenagers. And if in the beginning of the journey, Boris painted in every interesting place, and all of its modest waiting, wandering through the surrounding mountains and caves, by the end of the trip, seated himself at the pebble painted almost everything)))

Grigoryan was born in g.Kropotkin, Russia, an Armenian family who immigrated to Iran in 1930. After high school in Iran, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. In 1954 he returned to Iran, opened the «Galerie» in Tehran. In 1958, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, he organized the first Tehran Biennial. Grigorian was an influential teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts, where he extended his passion for local pop culture. In 1975 Grigorian organized a group of free painters and sculptors in Tehran and was one of its founding members. Grigorian had left Iran in 1977 at the age of 52 years. He spent some time in the United States before moving to Yerevan. In 1989 he traveled to Russia at the invitation of the Union of Artists of Russia, visited Moscow and Leningrad. He has exhibited his work in Yerevan in 1991. Later, he donated 5,000 of his works to the Government of Armenia. Some of his works currently on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, Museum of Contemporary Art in Kerman, as well as the National Gallery of Armenia.
