Andrew Clemens short-lived, he was born in 1857 and died at the age of 37 years.
He lived near the city of McGregor in the American state of Iowa. The disease did not break Andrew, as a teenager, he began to collect the different colored sand, which could be found in the reserve Picked rocks.

If the residents of Mauritius able to create only a "striped" creation, Andrew Clemens was surprised these masterpieces. The guy made a special tool from pieces of Hickory (American walnut) and fishing hooks, to as closely as possible to put the grains in a jar.

Andrew did not use glue, sand adjoined to each other and remained in place under the force of their pressure. When the jar was filled, the artist her tightly corked.
