But the fact that art has become a design, as I already said, this is in my opinion very disturbing. Art, in my opinion, regardless of the ideas should be assessed some, for someone not entirely clear, but in fact quite real measure-talent. But today there is a tendency to replace the talent, a kind of project with a difficult technical execution. That's what we need to speak. Art, in fact born already dead, at best, cool design project.

Many of the artists shown there could well participate in this project. But they were "expelled", it was a curatorial decision, precisely because of their theme about the world, God and man ... They have successfully competed and looked no less spectacular, about skulls and skeletons in particular. They are subject to commercial demand, many names are quite well known ...

Luke Tyuymans - one of the most important painters in the world of contemporary art. In the 3rd Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art Luc Tyuymans will be the special guest and the first time in Russia show a personal exhibition. "Contrary to the day" - the fourth exhibition BAIBAKOV art projects.

His works are included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and the Pompidou Center in Paris, his solo exhibitions were held at London's Tate Modern, Gallery Portikus (Frankfurt) and the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam). Exhibition "Defying Day" became the first major exhibition of works of the artist in his native Belgium - it is in the center of contemporary art Wiels in Brussels from April to August 2009. It is this historically significant to the artist's series of works and will be brought to Moscow and will again become a debut, this time to Russia.
Project "Defying Day", which includes 20 works, completes the trilogy of exhibitions Tyuymansa. The first, "Ghosts» (Les Revenants), held in 2007 Zeno X Gallery in Antwerp, antiutopicheskuyu investigated the structure of the Jesuit Order. Second - "Forever: Miracle Management» (Forever. Borrowing the name of the third exhibition of the novel by Thomas Pynchon "Contrary to the day", the artist is drawn to aspects of virtual reality and its impact on human perception of reality. Tyuymans creates his work, looking at an object through different prisms - a video game, sniper, equipped with night vision, the reality show "Big Brother" or a mobile phone camera, which the artist depicted himself. Recognizing the importance of figurative painting in the context of the time, information technology, uses technology Tyuymans film - framing, synchronization and editing. The main issues that excite him and he is always looking for the answer, there are questions of philosophy and psychoanalysis.
In parallel with the opening of the exhibition "Contrary to the day in Moscow, a retrospective of the artist will be shown in America - the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, the Dallas Art Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art in San Francisco. After the demonstration in Moscow exhibition will be held in the Swedish Museum Rooseum-Moderna Museet (Malmo).
