And here are a few tracks from the contrived Kocheyshvili head (Series Winter 2011-2012).
It is obvious that inhabit their characters are very similar to full-scale drawings of the artist, although significantly, and that they are more grotesque and more schematic. |

Publish the new (January - February 2012), paintings by Boris Kocheyshvili.
All work performed in the art canvas /acrylic. Size approximately 120h110sm. 1. Gold and white. In 2012. Almost monochrome, but the plastic is very strong work. The impression of it is similar to the impression of the icon, or a good group of sculptures. Yet no accident that Boris Kocheyshvili sculptural relief is engaged - the basis of his art, and a line of plastic. 2. Walking with the bird. In 2012. This pattern is written based on an earlier graphic work "Portraits". It used a very interesting "corporate" artist's reception, when the silhouettes of the figures or persons appear in contrasting geometric shapes (rectangle or oval). A sort of picture in picture. 3. Fans. In 2012. Fiercely blue sky, a small southern island, and exalted the Virgin appealing to the silent fragments of ancient cultures. So I see this picture. 4. Archaeology. In 2012. Wonderful still life. Ancient terracotta under the rays of the setting sun. Concise and at the same time, contrasting colors and sharp, the Baroque complex to millimeter calibrated composition. These are the terms of this masterpiece. 5. Silver. In 2012. Another still life. And, again, the basis of it - this contrasts. A small angular cannikin and luxurious stucco chalice. Flashes of gold (the underworld) in the sky and the cold indifference whitish air of this world. And of course the river and the woods behind her. 6. Autumn rides. In 2012. This is the third state of the same picture. Was it originally a dark, almost black background, but now it has become a gentle, lyrical. |

Suddenly found in the archives of interesting photo: relief "Tower", before the painting can be said in the first days of creation.
I confess, with some exceptions I prefer unpainted reliefs. They are completely self-sufficient, they strongly felt that the most "live birth form," which he wrote in his article V.S.Turchin art. The porous and rough surface of the stores every detail and twist knife. A feeling that is gray, initially lifeless and inert mass of plaster, not only captured a trace, but also absorbed the energy of motion of the tool. Author's technique of sculptural relief, invented by the artist Boris Kocheyshvili, gives him a unique opportunity to capture the direct production of the volume, instantly translating creative ideas into sculptural form. By a similar feeling of many sculptors sought the most talented sought this, even in stone and bronze, in spite of the fact that the technological features of these materials would seem to completely exclude the very idea of an instantaneous burst of creativity (remember the burning figures of Giacometti, or the expression of the stone Michelangelo's slaves). In the unpainted reliefs Kocheyshvili fascinates me is this is a clear expression of "live birth form" combined with a surprisingly verified composition. The artist calls his songs "well-knit." And really, their strict geometry is almost always built on a triangle - the most stable of the figures, and combines the perfect balance of all parts, while each individual element of full internal dynamics. |

Thank you, Alexander! I will definitely pass on your greetings to Boris Petrovich. And I hope all your wishes come true!
But back to our grounds. It is interesting how different look and act on the eyes monochrome and color reliefs. From the very first glance, once hanging on the wall of the work falls into our field of vision, monochrome landscape reads the eye as a sculptural form, and polychrome - a picturesque spot, on closer inspection has a volume. That is, it appears that the eye perceives color first, and then the shape of the object (in my sense is always the case, even though I do not know what psychologists say about it). Probably why I am so attracted to monochrome reliefs: nothing prevents follow the logic of a linear pattern, the volume and enjoy the game of shadows, to observe the behavior of the material - the surface topography is porous and friable, the dense and smooth as glazed ceramics. However, dyed or polychrome these studies can not be named. Rather, it is tinted reliefs. Here's the strange thing: as you know, all the ancient and medieval sculpture and had a rather vivid coloring. All those beautiful friezes, statues and sarcophagi, all committed by the ancient forms, which are strongly associated in our minds with a strong and proud splendor of marble, were scrappy as popular prints. I think that the sculpture was originally started to paint in order to achieve maximum similarity with reality, read - the original prototype. And since all the earlier sculptures had ritual significance, then the need for its coloring is quite obvious. From this we can infer that the work, conceived and executed in a clean stone appeared when people first realized the intrinsic value of art. Art for art's sake. Art as a means of expression. That's where the centuries-old began the search for new forms which have meant that as a "modern art" we have today. |

Most of the published pictures above, I made a wonderful photographer, author of a number of albums on art, Sergei Tartakovsky. It should be noted that the survey of these reliefs is unique in a number of reasons.
First, because of its initiator and author - Sergey Tartakovsky. This is a man who opened our audience Perm wooden sculpture and many other monuments of Russian Art (hidden in the storerooms of museums). He died two years ago. And this shot one of his recent unrealized projects. Second, the survey gives a very bright and curious sense of presence at the birth of a number of important for an artist and published his first catalog of works. Filming was done in the summer of 2009. This summer has been particularly fruitful for the artist. He created a large series of reliefs in a unique author's technique: the plywood with PVA glue and plaster. Boris Kocheyshvili worked ... no, the place can not call it "garden." Enough open space is located on a hill and overlooking the ravines, woods, fences, and the river far below. Therefore, the expression "created in the open air" fits here perfectly. ))) Many of the established in the summer reliefs not only included in the catalog of the artist, but also participated in several exhibitions (2010 Signs of attention. Paintings, reliefs, and poetry. Gallery A3. Moscow, 2010 Architectural Graphics Boris Kocheyshvili. VHUTEMAS Gallery, 2011 Identities and reflection. Exhibition Hall of the State Literary Museum in Trubnikovsky lane. Moscow., 2011 on the shore. Gallery Pauline Lobachevsky. Moscow) And third, this shot was taken in Tarus - a place of "cult", inspired by the work of a number of great artists, poets and musicians (including eminent Tarusyan appear on Marina Tsvetaeva, Nicholas Z and Bella Akhmadulina. Borisov-Musatov, early and Krymov Sviatoslav Richter) ... I already wrote a bit about my Tarus in the topic, but again a little bit for those who have not read this long-standing position: "Tarusa - a small town on the bank of the Oka, where he spent many wonderful summers of Moscow artists, such as: Edward Steinberg, Irina Starzhenetskaya, Vatagin (two generations), Bruni, Anna Birshtein, and many others. With Tarusa Boris Petrovich Kocheyshvili binds a long history . For the past 52 years, he occasionally comes here in the summer months. In Tarusa landscape has its own, or with an incomparable charm. picturesque loop of the river Oka (Oka and at that point spreads are very wide) is a major tourist attraction. embankment - a favorite place to walk, begins at the pier and ends with a majestic cathedral square cathedral of St. Peter and Paul. steep streets of the city climb up the hill. All Tarusa dissected descending to the river deep and wide ravines, filled with birch trees and strawberries. old houses with carved frames, chickens and roosters in the gardens and, most importantly, a fantastic view of the river and the meadows the other side - Tarusa is unique, that's why its so fond of artists and poets. Looking at the paintings by Boris Kocheyshvili, written over the past 10 years, it becomes quite clear this landscape, one way or another, reflected in the rhythms, and composite constructions of the artist.
