The signature on your picture I would read as "J. Christensen", and, possibly, "J. Christinsen". The website http://www.findartinfo.com/search/li...hn_Christensen
is a Danish artist like John Christensen (1896 - 1940). The main part of the mentioned there it works - still lifes, interiors and genre scenes - written in the 1920 - 1930 and dated by the author. But apart from those of his works there mentioned "Betender Rabbiner" (Prayer Rabbi), "Jüdischer Alter Mann Beim Zählen Des Geldes" (Old Jew, who believes the money - it's not analog, has your work? Size 29h21 cm, wood /oil), "The old jew "(Old Jew) written on the tree. A site

On the Web I came across only a reproduction of "not your" John Christensen, and their style is very different from that in your picture.
