Nature endowed Nikolai Nikolaevich Karazin outstanding talent - the talent of the painter combined it with a literary talent. He has written over twenty volumes of fiction: novels, short stories, lots of sketches, notes, correspondence, and created about four thousand drawings and watercolors, written about a hundred pictures of them - seven large paintings, illustrated dozens of books.

NN Karazin was born in November 1842 in the village of Novo-Borisoglebskaya Bogodukhov county Kharkov province. Rhode Karazin rich in extraordinary people. Grigory Gagarin had not received formal art education, only a short time he took lessons from Horace Vernet and Karl Briullov, with the latter later maintained friendly relations.
