Default Images of the skull in art

Inspired by a Turkish theme Constantine http://forum.artinvestment.ru/showth...???# post39505.
Sounds weird. But you will agree, there is something mystical in the image of the skull. No wonder it turned to the hundreds of artists of the XX century, from Picasso to Hirst.
Form one, but the meaning and value - tens and probably hundreds. From the skull of Adam (Calvary), to mark the purity of thought (something that the Review can be read here: http://www.reakcia.ru/article/?1375). In general, it would be good interesting work with skulls collected in the same topic. Please send publish.
Here's what came across recently:
1. Vladimir Anselm. Skull from a series of "guest worker spirit." 2007. Object, coal, tar, 30x30 cm Exhibition "Russian poor. www.bednoe.ru
2. Igor Makarevich. Homo Lignum 1997. The object tree. Exhibition "Russian poor. www.bednoe.ru
3. Damien Hirst. For the love of the Lord. Platinum skull.
4. Jiri Chernitskii. The first series izgolovlennaya schizophrenia. 1998. Jiri Svestka Gallery. Art Moscow 2008.
5.Cherep Adam (depicted at the base of the crucifix)

Albrecht Durer. St. Jerome. 1521. Lisbon. National Museum of ancient art.

Quote:
This is a painting of St.. Jerome with a wrinkled face profound old man with one hand propping up his head, his other hand he placed on the skull, specifically pointing us to him and letting him know that this symbol of the transience of life is the subject of his reflections. Skull intentionally symbolically placed between the open Bible lying on the desk and inkwell. This points to the role of the saint as the translator of the Bible. Old Jerome looks at us with paintings by Durer with an expression of frustration and grief. It is clear that Dürer created this painting under the influence of Flemish art, and especially Quentin Matsys.

Jolly Roger - the victor's mercy

Quote:
Skull - is not the only character that is depicted on the flags of pirates. Besides the skull were crossed sabers, a rooster, and more. The most frightening was the red flag without the drawing - it meant that no quarter will be. But the Jolly Roger, by contrast, testified that the pirates intend to take prisoners. The skull of this flag is pictured smiling ...
About red flag - do not know. Interestingly Bolsheviks knew?

Do not be surprised if something similar had in mind. In general, people have worked on the symbolism seriously. Pay attention to the five-pointed star in the same row. What does it mean? Was created a new "religion", it was argued atmosphere of atheism and needed relentless and compelling characters. And that was just too sinister to explain about the color of workers 'and peasants' blood shed for the revolution. What version does not?

This is a Kabbalistic symbol to invoke evil spirits, they have to be called differently - to call the demons. As the star of the Bolsheviks got - a good question. And if rassrtely bombings of churches and clergy to remember. And when they started to shoot each other, immediately vspomnaetsya Jesus Christ allowed the demons to enter into a herd of pigs, and it (the herd) rushed down the cliff. And the "principal" still does not accept the land. And militant atheism of course.

Therefore, in the USSR and was introduced separate naval flag?
