Grand coat
The Ottoman Empire, XVII century. Satin patterned brocade fabric, cotton, taffeta. Topkapi Palace Museum. The collection of robes of sultans. Coat with short sleeves and a decorative buckle made of red satin with applique of plungers brocade fabric. Applicative pattern consists of images of double crescents and tulips on a short stalk, with wavy leaves. According to museum records, this coat belonged to Sultan Murad III (1574-1595). |

jar with a lid
The Ottoman Empire, the second half of the XVI century. Herat stone, gold, rubies, turquoise, enamel. Topkapi Palace Museum, Treasury. Jug has a classical form. Exaggerated, wide body, narrow neck, the handle in the form of a dragon, domed lid decorated with flat polished rubies in gold castes in the form of floral rosettes. The surface between the rosettes inlaid curly thin gold leaves and stems. Gold Rim lid is decorated with unusually thin enamel patterned with motifs of tulips, hyacinths and carnations, white, yellow, blue and green colors.
