Polish painter. Landscape.
He graduated from high school in Vilna, then joined the faculty of medicine in Moscow. Six months later he moved to St. Petersburg, where he studied at the natural-mathematical department of St. Petersburg University (1850 - 1860) and has also attended evening classes IAH. In 1861 he was arrested for taking part in a memorial service for victims of the Warsaw shootings, spent three months in the fortress. After his release he returned to Vilna. In 1862 he returned to St. Petersburg University, but in 1863, after learning about the beginning of the Polish uprising, threw 4 year Law School and joined the rebels. In the same year was sentenced to 4 years imprisonment. In 1865, he worked in Nerchinsk (Transbaikalia) on the silver mines. In 1866 he received for his intention to run for another 4 years of hard labor. Released by Manifesto 1866. Since 1870, after hard work was in exile in Irkutsk, where he opened with another exiled Polish artist S. Vronsky bad ¬ divine studio. He left Irkutsk in 1877, had moved to Nizhny Novgorod. In 1880 he moved to Libau. From 1884 to 1894 he lived in Warsaw, where he served as an accountant at the railway. Three years later supplemented arts education in Munich. From 1900 lived at Warsaw, some time in Vilna, engaging in public education. Polish painter and graphic artist. Landscape. In 1854 he graduated from the Lublin district school in 1857 enrolled in the painting department at the Warsaw Fine Arts School. Eliminated from it, receive a transfer to the 4 th course (1861), as the school was closed. Active members of the liberation of the Polish uprising (1863-1864). He was arrested and sent to Siberia. Serving a prison on Petrovsky an iron factory (now Petrovsk-Zabaikalsky). Then he was transferred to the village on the river Sivakov. Ingoda, later transferred to the settlement in Darasun. Already in the Trans-Baikal area became known as a talented artist. From Darasun went to Chita, where he worked decorative painting (curtain and wings for amateur theater) and a few landscapes. Member of the "first public" agricultural and manufacturing, handicraft exhibitions (Irkutsk, 1868) and a similar exhibition in 1869. Since 1870 after the departure of hard labor he lived in Irkutsk. Together with the Polish artist Yu Berkmanom (see) opened an art studio. In the early 1870's commissioned by the Governor-General of Eastern Siberia NP Sinel'nikova (see) restored "Portrait of the Derzhavin" (see) and wrote on it Irkutsk winter landscape (according to the memoirs of his contemporary scientist B. Dybovskogo , who served as the reference (published in 1930 in Lviv). Dybovskaya recalled that the artist also wrote the scenery and the curtain for the Municipal Theater and also performed now for the altar of the Catholic church. He gave private lessons. From 1880 to 1885 taught art at the Irkutsk Technical School. He left Irkutsk in the second half of 1880. As an artist took part in expeditions VSOIRGO together with the Polish exiles, academics B. Dybovskaya, V. Godlevskii, geologists, and J. A. Chekanovsky Cherskii. Member urban exhibitions (1880-1881, 1883-1884 - Paintings and Graphics, 1890, 1900, 1910, etc.). In 1886 his paintings took part in the Fourth celebration on the occasion of the "day of conquest of Siberia." His work, he sent to exhibitions in Warsaw and published them in 1880 in the magazine Niva and the publication of "Picturesque Russia". In the second half of 1880 lived in St. Petersburg. Member of academic exhibitions 1887, 1888 and 1889., which has exhibited paintings and drawings depicting Siberian nature. In 1895 and 1896 participated in exhibitions in Krakow, introducing the Siberian landscape. Shortly before his death he returned to Warsaw. keeping memories of Vronsky, written by B. Dybovskaya (in his book on Siberia and Kamchatka - 1899 in the Polish edition of "Week" in 1900 in Lviv. In 1930 in Lviv opulikovany his memories of "The Diary of Dr. Benedykta Dybovskogo from year 1862 to year 1878 (published by national institutions named Ossolinska). They contain memories of the artist. works are in Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Nerchinsk in the Czech Republic and Poland.
