Zorn especially loved to work in public. During one demonstration session was painted a portrait of Savva Mamontov. Present artists reminisced: "Zorn wrote a portrait of a huge brush, just three colors: black yellow and white.

When Mamontov said Zorn, why he did on his jacket or a button, he proudly cast: "I am not a tailor, and the artist." Striking the famous phrase: "Maitre" all very impressed and became quite famous among artists.

painter, who like in America, where he created many works and portraits of American period Gilded Age .
