There's a Chinese-2 ...
-------------------------------------- XVIII century Chinese vase was sold at 608 times the cost estimate Miniature XVIII century Chinese vase in the style of the Ming Dynasty, estimated at 375 pounds, was sold at auction for 228 thousand pounds - 608 times more expensive estimate, wrote on November 30 the British The Daily Mail. Seller vases - a resident of the British town of Chester - said he needed the money and brought a vase local art dealer, who estimated it at 375 pounds. The dealer, however, seemed too concerned, the woman hesitated and decided to consult with another specialist. As head of the auction house said Byrne's Adrian Byrne (Adrian Byrne), to which the owner requested the vase, the staff conducted a small study at home and hung out in the Internet directory which was compiled their findings. Vase, according to Byrne, was very big buzz among customers. Participated in the auction, about 20 buyers from around the world, including Gonkoga, China and Taiwan, but bought a vase art dealer from London who participated in the auction on behalf of an anonymous collector. According to Byrne, the vase was the most expensive piece ever sold his auction house. The previous record was 98 thousand pounds sterling. |

Eugene, not surprising - only a year of crisis in China, the number of billionaires increased by 30%. Prices and demand for Chinese art rising, as in his time at the expense of all the Russian nouveau riche. Chinese art boom - is here to stay. Found an article - too old, but overall trend is probably not changed http://www.stengazeta.net/article.html?article=4149

VYACHESLAV, to be precise the merchants, of which you write, were Jews. They were called rahdonity - itinerant merchants, who during the early Middle Ages controlled trade between the Islamic East and Christian Europe along the Silk Road and other routes. And Arabs (Ibn Khordabex) they are mentioned in the sources of their 9-th century. This is probably the earliest mention of the European trade relations with China. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seemed to me that in this your post you like, a little, opponiruete me or do not fully understand me. Whatever it was, just in case, I want to clarify my point of view in greater detail. The fact that Chinese culture had existed then as "a disgrace" skins covered not only in Russia but also throughout Europe. And to the Chinese there were other, equally interesting civilization. Every civilization, including the Russian, regardless of their temporal localization of self-worth. The art of these cultures is of great value if only because it is not repeated ever. Interest in Chinese goods, of course, has always been. But the interest in Chinese art as a phenomenon and collectibles became apparent in Europe is relatively recent. Especially given the 5000-year history of Chinese civilization. Of all the subjects of Chinese art, probably the earliest European homes can be considered as porcelain vases. If not mistaken, they began to appear in Europe in the 16 th century (before that time, large collections of Chinese porcelain were only in the east in Iran and Turkey). But the present China settled in European homes only in the 18 st century. A bronze, for example, began to attract the lovers in general only in the late 19 th century. Still, the main idea, which I have attempted to present in his previous post (#4) lies in the fact that despite, the fact that China and Russia have long been held as two, of course, major centers of world culture, they remain largely unknown to the west. China because of the complexity for the perception of Europeans of their worldview. Russia is largely because over a century was in the informational isolation from the rest of the world. As for modern art, then I agree with you completely. |
