They and the price was different: in a silver rimmed decanter cost 12 rubles., and in silver - as much as 25 rubles! This is when the average salary of an employee of the Musée 110-120 rubles.
I suspect that all of the above forum members decanters with silver rims were manufactured in the late 60's - early 70-ies, when Melchior has not yet supplanted precious metal.
I have one in Nickel silver.... I was a young specialist with a corresponding z.p......
