Abstract Expressionism

This movement arose in New York in 1946, and have evolved primarily obrahom in the United States until 1970
It can be divided into 5 phases:
- First generation;
- Painting action (action painting);
- Chromatic abstraction (colorfield - Color Field Painting);
- Post-pikturalnaya abstraction;
- Geometric abstraction.

With the emergence of this trend of world art center shifted from Paris to New York. The art critic Harold Rosenberg wrote in the magazine Art News "():" American artists, one after another to perceive canvas as a kind of arena in which to act, not as a surface on which is reproduced object, real or imaginary.
