I don't now maybe it is still a small chance that this sketch was painted in early times until impressionism influence. However, it was painted by russian painter and I think professionally, not by amateur.

Interesting story about provenance of this sketch. I was told that the painting was brought in America during the civil war in Russia. The owners were russians and they run away in USA.

Interesting detail form the artist biography:

"Korovin painted a large number of landscapes: Norwegian Port, St. Triphon's Brook in Pechenga, Hammerfest: Aurora Borealis, The Coast at Murmansk and others. The paintings are built on a delicate web of shades of grey. The etude style of these works was typical for the Korovin's art of the 1890s."

Maybe this sketch, full of grey shades is from that period.

In my opinion , this sketch for Korovin not very similar . Neither the concept sketch , not in color . Be sure of something, red wine added . From Cow is only likely to frame and label . By the way, the structure shown in kondovuyu Russian village architecture does not looks like - the structure is long, and a tall chimney widish . In my view, it sates . From the hypothetical choices of authorship - Stanislavski Vysotsky (see picture) . And so , more on the scoop looks like .
