I was also very interested in what kind of place depicted in the painting by Aivazovsky: Lot 12 Ivan Aivazovsky (1817-1900). "Calm." 1887
Can predpolazhit that this Bay of Naples, view of the island of Ischia and Mezensky cape, but not 100%sure. In Aivazovsky is a picture of a Ischia, where the island is visible in the distance. It is possible that this picture is from the same cycle.

About his movements are not znayu.On loved to work and Sorry vypit.U he had disciples. He loved to experiment with the ground and gesso may have seen his work on the Sink posv.Pushkinu.Znakom was with Parajanov both did kollazhi.Pro him a book. Hard for me to describe his work but I'm his paintings are very very nravyatsya.
