FREDERICK JUDD WAUGH was born in the family of the artist in 1940. His first teachers were his father, Samuel B. Waugh, a respected portrait painter in Philadelphia, and his mother, Mary Eliza Waugh, miniature painter. Parents help him enroll in the Academy of Fine Arts in Pennsylvania, where he studied with Thomas Eakins and Thomas Anshutz. After three years, he went to Paris, where he attended the Academy Julian worked with Adolf William Bougereau and Tony Robert Fleury. In 1883, when he was still a student, his work was taken at the Paris Salon. After his father died in 1885 and moved it back to the United States.

In the Academy Julian did not receive a recorded. Such academies were many different directions that biktovali professor. Bouguereau and Freire were academicians life struggling with Impressionism. This is evident in the cabin work. Cezanne in the salon did not take. Seascapes are monotonous, but in rural feel the influence of academic "Rural Love" jumped name. This is not the best-placed next to each Berthe Morisot, and all you see.

Adams, John Otis (born: Adams, John Ottis). Born in 1851, died in 1927. Famous American impressionist painter. He studied painting at the Royal Academy of Painting in Munich, as well as in London. Acknowledged master impressionist landscape.
And Willard Leroy Metcalf. Born in Lowell, Massachusettsin July 1, 1858. Metcalf Willard studied landscape painting with his friend George Loring Brown to participate in the classes of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. In 1880., Metcalf went to Paris for further study at the Academy Julian.
