This is what I was interested in using this technique white tempera. Do not compare with those sketches left heel at the old wallpaper that is so often present.

How much I know, there are several varieties of one and the same technique Mische, but always used tempera.

I will try to tell you about the most simple. The principles you will be clear.

So

In general, in so far as I know it is done so ...

1. Create imprimaturny layer (classically, - brick red) on the primed canvas or board.

2. Then apply drawing (charcoal or pencil, to secure it fixatives).

3. Will simulate the form of white tempera is very transparent. Do not be afraid perebelit, but at the same time leave some opacity.
You will get the desired "optical gray color. In reality, it is pearl gray.

4. Prolessiruyte entire canvas uniform layer of warm colors (some red purple mixed with ocher light or something like that). You get a complicated color pleasant tone.

5. Let dry.

6. Cover the entire canvas with a thin layer of lacquer Retushnogo.

7. Again simulates drawing, chiaroscuro tempera. Again semitransparent.

This is one cycle.

Next, all the same. Changing only the color lessirovochnogo layer (2 - Amber, some of Mars, 3 - with the cold side of Ultramarine).

After the third layer (and cycle), as well as easily Revised Tempera modeling lessiruete local spots, then the details of their corresponding color. Playing with heat and cold. Do not forget to work in tempera prokryvat Retushnogo layer of varnish (sometimes you can mop up the smallest sandpaper).

The last is of top lacquer.

This classic approach to
the art of painting is methodical and liberating in the building of a picture
in
egg tempera and oils and ends the common 'frustration' experienced by
oil
painters at all levels of experience. During the Renaissance, particularly in
Italy, innovations and the need to paint faster than in the Northern European
manner evolved out of the methods of the Van Eycks, Durer and Holbein. In this
workshop, we avoid the time-consuming process involved in the typical
Flemish /German approach without sacrificing the effects available through
combining both water-based and oil media. The incredible "luminosity"
that can
only be achieved in a 'mische' or 'mixed-technique', and the
ability to create
an amazing depth, ambiance and atmosphere in our paintings is offered in this
seminar. Through the brilliant 'division of labor' devised by the old
masters in
under painting in egg tempera white and overlaying glazes and layers of radiant

resin-oil color, each artist learns to quickly realize their vision. The
participant will discover an excellent and sound method that is fast and lends

Introduction to a variety of painting techniques including washes, glazes,
