According to Natalya Solzhenitsyn, the writer himself instructed her to prepare abridged edition, but the hands to the work she has survived only in the summer of 2009. First Nobel Prize for literature was asked to reduce the book American professor of Slavic studies: students-philologists was difficult to master all three volumes. The new edition, however, does not reproduce the structure of foreign as well as specially prepared for the Russian reader. In short "Gulag Archipelago" saved all 64 chapters, although from about a dozen of them remained only the titles and brief detention.

Solzhenitsyn said that publishers have already put in five new volumes of the 30-volume collected works of the author of "Archipelago" and "One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich. In 2010, they will come out in the publishing house "Time", after which the books will have 17. In one of them will be published material which does not publish during the life of the writer. This "Diary of R-17", a diary of the novel "On the seventeenth of March" from the epic "Red Wheel, Solzhenitsyn who led for 25 years. According to the widow of the writer, the author decided to publish the diary after the fact, as the "Wheel" has been fully published.

A total of collected works will be four volumes of the unknown Solzhenitsyn, including "Literary Collection" and memoirs. The 30-volume will not include unfinished works - for the recognition of Natalia Solzhenitsyn, disassemble archive it has not yet started.
