According to the Central Council of the All-Russian Society for Protection of Monuments of History and Culture , in the last 10 years in the Russian Federation , killing more than 2500 monuments. Annual losses are 150-200 monuments. And more than 17,000 monuments continue to erode .

Why is this happening ? One reason: the contradictions in the current legislation on the protection of cultural heritage.
